	The goal of the Distributed Development of a Shared Semantic Resource (DDSSR) pilot project is to validate a method of extending the horizontal integration of intelligence data within the framework of the US Army’s Distributed Common Ground System Standard Cloud (DSC) initiative to new providers and users of this data. The guiding strategy will be to build a set of ontologies, not for a specific group’s needs or used to annotate a specific type of data only, but rather to represent the domains of reality with which all of the different groups are concerned and which all of these different sorts of data describe. Based on its success in other domains, we are confident that this methodology will advance the needed horizontal integration of data.
